I have a 86 daytona 2.2 turbo z i have a weared knocking sound comming from the front of the motor. i put new rod bearings in thinking that was the problem. it didnt fix the knocking issue. so then i thought maby a bad oil pump or distributer so replaced them to. sill have the same knocking issue. tested compression. ok on all cylenders. this has me puzzled. could it be the drive shaft that turns the oil pump and distributer. please help!

 

Noise is one of those thing that can't be diagnosis across the internet.

I suggest you take it in.
