Cylinder Head...
Hey guys,
My daytona just took a dump on me, but it still was running at the time but overheated. I thought it was the head gasket so I tore apart the engine, and I was right. Then I checked the cylinder head and it was warped
. Also the cam was worn. Does anyone know how much it would cost if I went and got the cylinder head milled? Also, how much can I mill the cylinder head by? It was warped by .008 in the worst spot on the head. Ok, one more question, any of you guys know where I can get a cylinder head, camshaft/lifters, and an intake manifold from just in case I want to go that way lol ?
Thanks

If you switch to a Cometic head gasket which are available in a variety of thicknesses you can mill a good amount off to get the head straight, just verify whats available first. I think OEM thickness is .068 and the Cometics go to 1.05 so .08 wont be to bad. As far as head parts FWDPerformance.com has parts, and Lonewolfperformance.com does excellent head and manifold work (porting and thermal coating).
Actually I have a head already milled with a mint stock cam its milled exactly .008 and its a hydra roller with oil ports to the cam. Milled put new everything gakets and all in the whole top end including valve seals, spun the crank bearing after 100 miles in my garage no doubt repurging the cooling system after the friggin line from the intake blew off, (my fault overlookedd the tightening thing)
