Default In need of some help

Hi, I am a new member. I have a 1988 dodge daytona. Yesterday my car got stuck on high idle. I was wondering how to fix it. Any help would be great! Thanks

Well that can be two things...trace all vaccum lines for leaks...
and the TPS could be fried...

So one will cost you close to nothing..the other around $30 bucks... I think..

First off, try disconnecting the battery for about 5-10 minutes to reset the PCM (computer) and then reconnect it and see if it's still doing it. If it is then check the PCM for codes, all it takes is your ignition key and a few minutes, for full details on how to do this just click on this link: http://www.allpar.com/fix/80s-codes.html

I had the same problem on my R/T. High idle around 3000RPM. Spent some cash on a TPS and that's fixed the problem so far. Just so everyone knows . . . . . if they dont already [8D] the map sensor takes over when the TPS goes out of range for limp in mode.

turn your key 3 times, on-off-on-off-on-off-on..

read the flashes for codes

Actually you only need to turn it on, off, on, off, on and leave it in the "on" position on the 3rd time, not 4 times.
