I have a 87 Daytona with a 5-speed,on the way home the clutch started slipping real bad and i had to shut it off to get it in any other gear.when i would start it it would pull even with the clutch petal to the floor.i figured the clutch was shot and called a buddy to come get it and put a clutch in it,when he got here he started it,the car wasnt trying to pull and it went in every gear perfect and on a hard pull it wouldnt slip,ive drove for about two weeks since then and today it done it again.can anybody please tell me whats causing this?i always thought when a clutch went bad that was it it wouldnt straighten up again.by the way it already has a new shifter cable and shifter arm..thanks for any help..

 

Have you checked your clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder?
