Default Can I Turbo the 89

I have an 89 Daytona 2.5L ES. Can I add a turbo charger to the existing engine?

I believe you could get them from the factory with a turbo. I have the same one as you with a turbo. Towards the bottoms of this page it explains what you could have gotten in a 89. I hope this helps http://www.allpar.com/model/daytona/chronology.php

It would be cheaper to buy a turbo car or a turbo donor car. Decent amount of stuff is needed to convert it to a turbo.

Yeah you would need a 89 specific Turbo computer and wire harness, fuel pump and then you can put in if you can find it a 88 to 91 2.2 or 2.5 Turbo1 motor or if you get ahold of a 89 TII turbo computer and harness you can put a 88-89 TII motor in. and there are many ways to find these parts. We had just converted out 87 T1 log intake car to a TII which probably took more work.
