How to remove trans 1991 Daytona
I’m also having Transmission problems. I own a 91 Daytona 5 speed. I had trouble keeping the car in 5th gear; when I was driving it would just pop out of gear.
Now it sounds like something is bouncing around in the transmission and the car jerks, so I parked it.
I have never had to do any major repairs on this car, so I need a little advice. Naturally I expected to have to remove the transmission, but when I got under the car to do the job I found that I am too inexperienced.
It appears that I need to remove the axles first. Is this right? If so, how do I go about this?
Can anyone offer me any advice?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i have been told that it is extremly hard to put in a transmission in a daytona. I was also told that if the tranny im my 1991 daytona ever went out to go to a mechanic and let them do it since it sucks real bad, especially on a daytona.

It's not that hard. Pull the axle's, support the motor/trans from the top if possible so that you can raise and lower it and remove the motor mounts, front, rear and tran's mount and then start on the bell housing. You'll spend most of the time removing the air box and other stuff that will get in the way. It also nice to have help while doing it because the tranny's are heavy and more than likely once you get it away from the block you find that it will sit nicely on your chest until you roll out from under the car.
A factory service manual will go a long way if you have access to one. Try you local Dodge/Chrysler dealer to see if they will loan on out to you if you can't find one.
