Raced a Daytona!
No laws were broken at anytime, all events are fictional/computer generated, or occurred in Mexico and not the US.
About two days ago I was headed to the in laws, and as I was about to make my left hand turn I see a Shelby z daytona pull out and head the opposite direction. Normally I would not think anything of it, other than them being cool cars, but I heard a very loud turbo and bov! I wrestled with my demons for a few milliseconds and lost by immediately busting a u turn instead of a left. (no traffic at all)
I caught up in short order, but not before crossing into Mexico were the federales can be bought off! I immediately gave the guy a thumbs up because I LOVE any car that is that much of a sleeper at first look all the while making big turbo sounds like that!
After he said, "it's a fun car to run around town in," he brake boosts at about 50 mph and takes off pretty damn fast! I catch up and tell him it runs pretty damn well which makes him grin ear to ear.
Having armed the nitrous, I asked if he wanted to do a 50 roll which turned more into a 40ish roll. I don't know why I didn't honk it off, I guess just a brain fade, but I did wait until he was brake boosting before whacking the loud pedal!
In all honesty he was only a millisecond behind me on the hit which was only about a few feet. Then the nitrous hit. 2nd gear expired at 60 very quickly, then 3rd gear came and my GTO started pulling. By 90mph in 3rd, I'd estimate I had 5 or 6 car lengths. (hard to tell at those speeds really). I whacked 4th gear then lifted after a second or two.
He was rather astonished my 5.7 "jumped that hard"
. Then I let him know that she was on a little bit of 'da juice! I again gave a thumbs up, turned around, and continued off to the inlaws place.
As a reference, my GTO ran a 11.98@117 on the 75 shot and a few bolt on mods. This race was on the 100 shot. IMHO this guys daytona would run right with or walk a stock GTO, so the thing moves out pretty good!!
I'd love to buy the guy a soda and see this machine close up, but I was already late at the time. In all honesty I was hoping the guy might post here.
Before we left the country to race, we were in the osprey/Nokomis, fl area. (inside of the estates unidas I obey every law very diligently!)
If you are on here drop me a line brotha, I'd love to buy you a soda and check that Shelby out!
