Strange noise on Daytona '90 - Help!
Hi Guys!
I just bought an old 1990 Daytona.
There is a strange noise coming from the engine.
It's a wierd whinning, humming noise. It changes pitch as I rev the car a bit, and goes away when I accellerate.
When I'm cruising at normal speeds, you can hear that whinning noise present all the time...
2 People have said that it's some sort of bearing, but one thought it's the timing belt bearing, and the other thought it's some bearing in the transmission.
Has anyone had this noise before that might let me know if this is serious, as in take it to a mechanic, or is this something that I could fix at home?
Thanks so much!

it could possibly be the front pump in the transmission if its a loud whining noise... while the engine is running, check the fluid level... if its really high, theres your problem...
could be the wheel hub as well...
