Default airfilter and intercooler reposition

I need to remount both my air filter and my intercooler, because where their sittin isnt exactly practical, but I also don't wanna cut into my car. Also, what degree should I mount the intercooler if i do find another spot for it? (88 shelby Z TII)

Default RE: airfilter and intercooler reposition

There are several ways to relocate it, but I had a FMIC set up that I had made from an intercooler from a Volvo. It was mounted behind the front facia in front of the radiator. ( It was an 89' Daytona ES with the 2.5L turbo I)

I thought my piping was restrictive, so I spent an arm and a leg to switch the system to the factory style ( radiator and intercooler side by side), and noticed NO difference.

Save your money and spend it on something else.

it does not matter where your airfilter is really. your intake filter can be right next to the motor and be just as good as a cold air set up b/c the temp. of intake air skyrockets when its mixed with exhaust air.

as for the intercooler, i bought a nice bar and plate designed intercooler, which makes a huge difference, and didnt cut any holes. i ran the piping from it through the spot where the old intercooler was.

heres what my intercooler looks like
