k im an aspiring mechnic and i work on my friends cars .. and my friend bought a 90 daytona and the head lights dont open and close they stay open .. any ideas about whats wrong .. im going to the auto wreckers tomorow .. what should i pick up to replace

This could get long, but here goes... If I remember right these are run by an electric motor - test these for continuity and restistance. Check all your wiring for the same thing. Make sure the fuse isn't blown and there should be a relay to check as well. Also make sure the gear heads aren't bound up. Just be glad these aren't the units like in the old Lincolns with the flip up panels, if those go bad it would be cheaper to buy a new car! LOL!

 

This could also be a bad headlight module under the dash panel. It's in the center of the dash under that plastic panel.
