engine kicks back under boost

engine kicks back under boost
I have an 87 Shelby Z t2. My problem is as follows.
under light throttle above 2100 rpm's boosts to 12psi with out any problems until about 4000 then starts kicking back [like at rev limit] poping out tail pipe also occurs.
and also when i give it full throttle, [any rpm, highway etc..] it boost to 12psi and it kicks back.
another note is that i can run down the highway at 75mph no problems, and without boost above 10 it is ok.
sometimes i can take off from a dead stop and can run all the way to 6000 rpm's thru three gears boosting 14 with out a problem.
i have a aftermarket bov and wastgate bleed and stage two mopar computer. [all added in the last month]car sat for about 16 months and my wife drove car bevore that so i dont know if it had this problem before.
car alo has no cat and free flowing muffler.
