Is it possible to boost my horsepower in my 1985 dodge daytona without changing the engine? i want it raised about 500 hp. possible? HELP ME. i like the looks of the car but i need a powerful and fast one. there is no turbo. would i be better of looking for a different car?

Why do you need it to be powerful and fast and have 500 hp?

Since it's an 85, I would bet it's a 2.2 Non-Turbo. As for an additional 500 horse without changing the engine? Good luck. I'll be doing the "exline conversion" in a few years and dropping in a built 340 or 360. Theres 500 horse for ya!
thanks for clearin that up, i though the 85s had the turbos in them, guess not though. but yea, you would need to do some mad wieght reduction if u wanna get close to 400 lol. you should rethink that though. you should bore out ur 2.2. they sound awsome like that

The Turbo was available in the Daytona from 1984 until 1993.
The 3.0L was available only 1990-1993.
Weight reduction won't increase horsepower, unless it is weight reduction of the drivetrain/engine internals.
well i was thinking a bigger engine but i am worried that if i change the engine it wont be worth as much when it becomes a classic. and if i got performance air and intake systems and a supercharger how much will it raise the horepower.

The Daytona will probably never be a classic, an antique sure but not a classic (unless that is the term your state DMV uses for car over 20-25 years old).
Resale really depends on how well the entire car is running/looks, not so much if its stock or not. Most aftermarket modifications add nothing to the resale value and its doubtful you would get much more for a car with an engine swap.
The horsepower increase depends on the supercharger you can get usually you get 50-100% hp increase. Converting to turbo would probably be better than using a supercharger, but that choice is up to you.
You really need to do a lot more research on what you want from this car though.
