Daytona trip and milage counters not working
Ok so my 92 3.0 V6 Daytona ES is awsome! except for the minor detail that the trip and milage counters are not always counting. More off then on. any ideas as to what to look for on fixing it?
Thanks

My '88 Daytona Shelby Z 2.2L Turbo II had the same problem, the speedo/odometer would kick in and out at random with no pattern to it. I had the speedo gear, which is plastic, replaced only to have the same problem still. I figure it was the connection on the back of the gauge since the gear swap did nothing.
I hope you get yours fixed, I never did get mine fixed and drove it for years that way. I quickly learned to gauge my speed based on the RPM's it was turning in each gear to compensate for the gauges random functioning. I hated to sell it, but I didn't have the money to convert it to RWD and drop a big block into it like I wanted to.
If you have any of the fasteners broken on the cluster, this may cause them to stop working because the contacts have loosened. I have to tap on the dash to get them to work. Sometimes it is a condensation issue. I noticed after a lot of dampness they also stop working. My mom's 75 Monaco(Blues Bros. car! ) had issues when it rained, too. These cars are very quirky when it comes to rain. And if you want the spedo and the tach to work at the same time, good luck. Dodge has a history of them not working simultainously. Same stuff happened with my hubby's 85 Turismo.
