Default RPM Gauge

Ok, got the motor in and running, noticed that when turn the car off, rpm needle stays stuck in gauge at last reading, then when turn the key on, it goes haywire and bounces below zero and al around then levels out to Zero. should I be concerned and is this a problemand how to fix. speedo acts up sometimes also. Thanks.

Default RE: RPM Gauge

These cars are well known for big time gauge problems. My Shelby Z had a speedo problem where it worked when it wanted to and would kick in and out completely at random. I simply learned how to tell my speed based on my tach readings, how many RPM's in what gear. When I had a dead battery in it and had jump started it the gauges all went wacky on me, putting a nice fresh new battery solved that. I don't think your going to get off that easy though. Good luck getting yours fixed.
