Hi, I have been looking at picking up an 88 daytona 2.2 turbo. The owner says that the the turbo is bad, how much is it to replace, approximate, doing the labor myself. Is this a good car, where there any issues with them. I have a line on a used motor for 150, complete, would this be a better route to go? Thanks for any info.

 

A used motor won't be of any help unless it has the turbo (if you get it from a junkyard that usually costs extra). I've seen yards that sell turbos for ~$50 if you pull it off the car.

You can get the turbo rebuilt for less money than buying a new one.
