alittle advice
hello everyone, i have a few questions, acutally i have many but ill stick to the important ones first
i built a dodge daytona for a short track mini-stock, not sure what year it is or anything, had a 2.2 turbo in it when i got it, still have the complete engine but none of the wiring or the computer, btu i dont need it right now anyway, i built another 2.2 and put a holley 4412 2bbl carb on it, alittle headwork and a cam, got the exhaust manifold cleaned out
it was doing fine until this past week, once it got warm, about 5-6 laps it started to breakup bad coming down the straightaway, let off the gas and back on alittle and it would clear up, but after a few times doing that it wouldnt anymore, changed everythin on it and it didnt fix it, finally pulled the head off after a compression check, number one lost alot, pulled the piston out and it has 2 cracks between the rings

the valve springs seem very weak aswell, they can be completely compressed just by squeezing them together in your hands, i pulled a valvesdpring out of every spare head i have (6) and they are all the same way.. but the heads are all old and probably have bad springs aswell
i already replaced the piston.. still looking for a good place to order better valvesprings, i have another engine aswell thats had work done to it, still warrped up in plastic, head crank and block, the head on the new engine is different than the rest i have for some reason, so are the pistons and rods
head that came off the engine

its been cut alot, you have to put 2 washers on each sparkplug to keep them from hitting the pistons
new head

the shop says the crack is fine and wont hurt anything, others i asked that have been racing these cars for years and years say the same thing, the chamber is alot different on the 2 heads though, why is that?
here are the pistonas, the cracked one on the right new on the left, the pistons look different, old one is flat top and the new has valve reliefs cut in it, says its .20 over on the bottom alsom why is the rod not as wide?

sorry for all the pictures..., i also have alot of cams sitting around, how can i find out the specs on them?

The heads are just from different years, that is why they have different chambers.... the same is probably the reason for the piston and rod differences.
You could probably figure out what year the parts are from the casting numbers on the head and block.
