daytona mods
he guys i have been chatting with you guys for awhile now and i was wonder what you all have done to your cars and what some of you plan to do to them.
Like some of you know my car has some mild little mods done to the interior and recently to the exterior. the car looks a lot better now then it did when i got it.
first i ripped out all the interior and got rid of alot of an wanted stuff and move the battery to the trunk to make more room up front. my car has no power seats but the holes are still there and i put some switch in those hole and put them to use

then i went and add some hood pins becuase the stock hinges where all messed up and it has a different hood on it.

the front of the car looked like it could use something to dress it up a little and add some function. I put thin sheet of aluminum from the bottom of ground effect to bottom of radiater to force more air through the radiater and inter cooler.

and if i get my other part car i might try the rear wheel drive conversion. I would like to hear what you have all done to these cars and give all of us some new all ideas.

Just got mine, so mods are slow... but I have a 52MM Throttle Body on mine, just installed it... pretty cool. LOL!
Also waiting for my performance computer to arrive... everything else I'm doing to her is necessary to get her running perfectly... after THAT... then come the Mods... LOL!

First, new 2.5l engine(wish it had a turbo though) but, so far runs sweet. K&N air filter, new struts and shocks, working on getting outside done now. if I could figure out these posting of pics, I would take some and show all. very proud of the way it looks. it is going to be a great first car for my son.
Oh yeah, this weekend is cleaning and painting wheels, any suggestions on what type of paint to use.
One more thing, my son gets a kick out of the old school radio with the cassette, nothing like throwing in some good ol METALLICA and old school metal in the tape deck. Aw, the memories.

To paint the wheels they make specail paint for rims or you can do like i did and get some enginge paint that resist high temp.It is good to see all of you replaying to this post. what kind of computer would you guys suggest to buy one that is a little better or one where you need to buy injectors map sensor and larger fuel pump. After i get my car running i am going to have a 3 in madrel bend exhaust no cat and dual 4 in tips out the back. i would like to put an exhuast cut out just after the turbo for the strip or to race some little punk in a want to be sport cars.[sm=smiley11.gif] you know how i am talking about
I made these mods to the GTS:
Stock 89 common block overbored .020 inches or .5 MM
Stock TII connecting rods resized with ARP rod bolts
.020 " over Mahle pistons for 2.5 conversion
2.5 cast crank with .010 mains and rods
ARP Main studs and Headbolts
Stock oversize bearings
782 crossdrilled head (original to car) with 3 angle valve job and clean up of ports
89 TII roller cam
new water pump
new oil pump
TII intake and exhaust manifolds
Upgraded the turbo to a Turbonetics Super60 with the .63 AR exhaust housing
slightly ported 2.5" swing valve
full 3" mandrel bent exhaust with Warlock muffler mounted in stock location
I have also installed all new brake lines with Stainless Steel braided flex lines from www.fwdperformance.com to go along with the rear disc brake conversion. All rear brake parts and the proportioning valve are from a 91 Dodge Spirit ES and were a direct bolt on. I have also installed new ebrake cables (for the 91 ES also)
