Default Car Slams when gas applied quickly

Hey all, I am new to the community as I am having some serious troubles with my Dodge daytona. I just recently replaced a whole wack of new things on the vehicleincluding rad, exhaust, the valve cover gasket and clutch, seeing as how I got a real steal on it. Body was pristine aswell as the motor, but of course one more issue has cropped up that I have no idea what it is, and even more so, how to fix it. The short desciption of my problem is it seems when ever I accelerate quickly, and push down on the gas fast, as in when shifting, the car feels like something is litterally slamming into the engine from the front. I thought it may have been the clutch plate, but realized afterwards it happens even when I am not shifting or using the clutch, it will do it when I am just driving and decide to push the gas down quickly. This is not your typical surge of power that slams you back in your seat, but something which feels like a giant hammer or force. I should also note it makes and awful noise like someone hitting a wall extremely hard. Any help would be more than appreciated as I have talked to a mechanic and he can't seem to figure out the problem either.

It sounds like youe'r front motor mount may be broken, start the engine put the E brake on and also block rear tires, put it in first gear and let the clutch partway out, release it,out, release it,rocking the car while having someone stand to the side and see if the engine lunges front to rear, you can also do this with the car in reverse, If the engine rocks and bangsyou have diagnoseda broken front engine mount. Good luck.

Sounds are wierd it still could becaused bythe front motor mount, Daytona's had a history of front motor mount problems, there even was a recall on them in 1990. I found the front motor mount broken on our 1984 DaytonaTurbo Z when I experienced a high pitchedsqueely squall noise under hard exceleration that sounded for all the world like a turbo bearing going out, it turned out the front motor mount being broken was letting the engine mount rock in such a way that if the electric cooling fan happened to be on the fan shroud was forced into the blades causingthe high pitched squeely squally noise. The dealer told me that a lot of Daytona owners freaked out when the sound was diagnosed as turbo problems and would either get rid of the car or park them to repair later as ours was, it had sat from 86 to 91 then traded off without being repaired and that is when we got it with only 26000 miles on it .Anyway checking out the sound as I explained will likely help you find the source of the real problem. Afterall its not going to fix itself you have to help a little bit ha ha . .

Check all the mounts they could all be bad. Also check the bobble strut on the back side of the engine, if that is broken or loose it will create a similar noise.

All of the motor/transmission mounts cost less than $15 at Advance Auto, even the OE mounts fromhttp://www.makeitmopar.com/are inexpensive....

I heard that high pitch squally squeel sound recently and itreally WAS my turbo. Took the turbo off and a week later the crank broke in half. I'm soooo sad now. Broken mounts suck too. I ripped my entire radiator support loose with the torque. The radiator was flapping like an old rag doll in my retrievers mouth.

I have been dealing with this issue since I bought the car. I first replaced the "torque strut" mount in the rear of my engine. I could NOT find new ones so pulled one from the junk yard. Mine was beat up and the fluid was out of it.
I still had the problem and as the passenger side mount had been replaced... I bought a new mount for the front. I pulled it all apart.... and found that the mount was fine. Nothing bent broken or worn out....including the rubber in the mount. So i re-installed.
The prbolem went away.... for a day or two...then came back. I was foced to slip the clutch to prevent this. The motor just kept slamming durring take off and each time torque was applied. I then got brutal on the issue and welded up some plates to not allow the mount to move so much.
This solved for about 2 days....when the issue still came back. I also replaced some of the bolts for the mount with longer bolts..... and really tighened things down.
I still cannot figure it out.... I am giving up on the car anyway as it has more issues than I can deal with right now.
