Newbie here. I have a base model 1993 2.5L. Have a friend that does legal drags. He informed me that i could replace my engine with any daytona engine, a stealth engine, 3000GT engine. Just wondering if that's right. Ultimately would like to put a turbo engine. Also a lot of other things, but one thing at a time.

Basically true, but it's not a simple swap. Depending on motor your swaping, it may require different mounts, trans plate, exhaust, etc. So, yes, it can be done, but its not a plug-n-play swap likeswitching for a bigger digital camera memory card.

AfterI posted this, I went on to read a bunch of other threads. Apparently,I would need to do a FWD to RWD conversion also. From what I gather, those kits are impossible to come by. I guess I need to nix the drag car idea. Regardless though, I do want to give it more power. Will performance parts give me that? If so, what would be the best route to go?

You can upgrade the cylinder head to DOHC https://dodgeforum.com/m_674316/tm.htmthis allows a lot more upgrade possibilities.

Or you can do the rear drive conversion (Exline sells most of the parts needed to modify the suspension) https://dodgeforum.com/m_336092/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm
