Hello all, newbie here...

I have a question about my 89 Daytona ES 2.5 and I understand this is the place to find the answer.

This car is driving me crazy right now but I love it soI keep on messing with it.

My problem is with the throttle. The car runs good up to about 1/4 throttle, then it bogs down. It runs good up to 1/4 throttle. It is not gettingenough gas after that point.
My first thought was the fuel filter. Replaced it, no change.
Then I went to the fuel pressure regulator. Replaced it, no change.

The throttle position sensor is reading 1.5 volts at closed and 4.3 volts at open so I assume it is good.
The car revs high and sets off the engine light when I unplug the MAP sensor.

I'm stumped.

BTW, if I hold the throttle wide open it will spit and bogg and remain at a rough 3000rpm. But if I dump a little gas in the TB out of a bottlecap, it will rev to the limiter.

I didn't know if anyone else here may have come across the same problem. I hate to keep throwing parts at it......

hi i to have a 89 tona es it has given me fits too. but not the same as yours. try the 02 senser. or better yet get the codes. turn your car on and off 3 times quickly and then watch the dash lights count how meny flashes it will be like flash flash pause flash flash flash that would be 23 then go to a web site that translates the codes that might help!
