I wouldn't feel safe getting a new engine from some random dude. Will a dealer do it for like 3-4k?

 

Most likely not and if they did you could probably double that price at the very least

 

You can expect the SRT-4 motor to go for at least 3-5k by itself, and forget about the install.....as it'll be outrageous....not to mention most dealers wont touch custom jobs like that for fear of being liable for damage.

 

u however could try to find a tech at the dealer that would like to make some extra money... some of them will do it, but u better make sure they know what they r doing.... and do not be in a rush to get ur car back... but 3-4k, very unlikely....

i have a tech do my wiring for me on my car, for one he takes about 1000 times faster than i could do it, and he usually doesnt charge me much at all to do it, his work is great.... he hooked up my apexi in about 30 min, charged me ten dollars... for the ten dollars i could not of done it that cheap... but i also give him the wiring FIRST so he can look over it and then he knows what he has to do before he even shows up at my house, he will also be installing my ms for me...

 

Do Not Trust the Dealership! I would find a nice shop around where you live thats dependable or someone you know that would do it both would do it tens times cheaper and better than the dealership.

Find a motor
Find everything you need for the swap (we have a thread up at the top for it)

then check out local performance shops to see if they will do it. A dealership wont even touch a custom job.

Did that shop close down or something? I remember about a month ago that site worked and i saw that 5.5 k swap site, but now the site leads me to an unknown site. I wonder why.
