Default Tranny question

Alright so I know that 2002 Neons have tranny problems. I hear a lot about the differential pin flying outta the case for our cars in general. Has your Neon had any tranny problems? What kind? (year, mileage, atx/mtx and problem please) Just curious to what kinds of transmission problems our rides have. I currently have an axle seal leak from beating on (racing) the car lately [&:] lol.
Thanks!

04 SXT with 69,000 miles on it... I had the tranny completely blow apart at 67,000 miles...There were parts from the tranny even in my radiator so that had to be replaced as well. lol Thankfully it was all under warranty! I think the person who had the vehicle before me was using the wrong fluid or something because the mechanics weren't sure why it failed soooo badly.

I hope you can get your leak fixed.

I have an mtx. My mechanic will probly fix it for me for dirt cheap tho so I'm not too worried about it. The leak is very very slow. And I have stopped beating on the Neon...for now[sm=devilgrin.gif] lol j/k

I have had the stock clutch and tranny since I bought her in 2002.... If it is a small leak then you should be fine... BTW the car is looking good!!!!

If you are destroying 2G mtx's, your driving style needs refinement. They have a stronger design, and really should hold up to a lot. I have a 03 r/t in my 96 dohc coupe, and have no issue running low 14's. Swapping that out for an 02 SE mtx for a 2.4 setup. Be sure to change both mtx and atx fluid about every 2-3 oil, depending on your driving style, to extend transmission life.

Thanks Nate!
Yea, its the racing I've done recently. It was fine for the whole year I've had it until I started racing and and running it harder than usual. Those new heavy *** rims probably didn't help either [&:]
