How difficult is it to change a fuel pump on a 2000 Neon ES? I know you have to take off the fuel tank but is this something easy to do in a driveway with just a couple of ramps and a jackstand? Do you have to move, remove the exhaust or any of the suspension?

 

If I remember I do not think you have to remove the tank to replace the fuel pump. Mine was in front of the passenger rear tire in a box.

 

According to my Haines manual it is infront of the gas tank somewhere, and you do not have to remove the tank to reach it. Although I didn't read too far into it as I was just looking at the fuel filter part.

 

i did it, yes, you have to take your tank off. its really not all that hard, just make sure you run your tank down to E and release the pressure before you start working on it. also, dont force things, because i broke a tube for the evap and i had to replace it. it took a few hours to do the whole project
