Default Leer 100 XQ

Well I finally got my Leer Truck cap in and installed today.
First impressions are good.
The Cap fits well. Seems like it should not leak but only time will tell there.
The only negative I have so far is the liftgate. It seems to me to be a bit square...I think it is just how Dodge's tailgate is made, the liftgae sits on top of the tailgate, and there is a cap that you need to install to make sure you can lock the tailgate. On the plus side the cap you install looks like it will divert the rain much better then the old one (my old one seemed to pool water)
I got the dark liner on the inside because I will be adding the Bedrug once that gets here. I ordered that last week and had one in my Dakota...I just love that whole combo, only bad part is the leaves are a pain to clean up.
Well if anyone would like to see other pictures let me know and I will try and get them posted.

I will try and get a pic that better shows the Tailgate and liftgate relation tomorrow

Looks great. I went to the local Century Cap dealer and they told me not available until this Summer sometime. Glad I saw youor post about the Leer. I'm going to call this morning. How does the rear window/lift gate seal?
I carry a lot of tools that I don't want to get wet!

BTW. My truck is the same color....So your pics give me the perfect picture of what it will look like on mine!

After some tweeking with the lift gate I managed to pull it in really tight, and it still latches with ease. I will take some close up pics of the cap that goes on top of the tailgate.

Not sure how well the seal is going be yet. I just got it installed yesterday and no rain up here in WA. But that is only a matter of time. I will let you know if I have any leaks.

Right now Leer has the 100XQ and the 100R made for the truck that is the high-low end of their canopies. The rest won't be out till April it looks like. here is the link to the release dates http://www.leer.com/newreleases.html

Yeah. I called on that top and the guy told me $1800.00. I think I'll wait a bit...

Thanks all,

Yea it is a bit spendy but you should be able to pick it up for around 1690 or so but again that is the top of the line for leer. The 100R you should be able to pick up for around 1k. Also with the 100R you don't have the remote unlock option.

Hmm for some reason I can't upload anymore pics I will look more into it later. I do have some of the back gate to show...oh well more to come

Default Tail Gate Topper Dilema

That fit issue on the rear window is a bummer. It looks like it will leak. The Leer guy told me that they are not using the trim piece and just letting the window sit on the top of the tailgate. Big bummer. I am close to going with the ARE. I had issues with my last Leer on my GMC, the window never closed right. Otherwise the topper looks great on your Ram, that tailgate issue just does not seem right. Let me know how it goes, if I get the ARE Z series I'll post photos ASAP.

Sorry guess I should have updated a bit.

Ok, no leaks at all. Granted now I have the bed rug installed but I have not noticed anything yet. And again if you know about Washington state at all you will know it rains a lot so if it was leaking I'm sure I would notice.

The back window is starting to break in, so it is getting easier to close. I have adjusted it a bit more to suck the window a bit tighter but it is looking much better.

Now if you are planning to buy the topper I would suggest getting the cap even if they don't install it. If you are lucky enough to have the locking tailgate then you might not need it. But again as I noted earlier the cap diverts water much better the the original cap.

Overall I'm very happy with the topper. Now that it is fishing season I have no problems keeping my fishing gear stored back there...even though I don't have the locking tailgate
