New Owner Observation - Too Much Ramage
After driving GM trucks for the last 30 years I decided to try the new and improved Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab Sport. I was really impressed with this truck. I came over from a 2007 GMC Sierra 2500HD that I lost when I hydroplaned and slammed into the guardrail then landed and slid on the roof for about 100+ feet - what a wild ride!
The Dodge is a really nice truck, but I think designers went a little overboard with the ram's head - it's everywhere. It's on the grille, the tailgate, the steering wheel, the center console, and each wheel center cap, and even on the nav radio screen, (and if you have a Laramie, you have it on your seat backs). I though about removing the one on the tailgate, but it's got a recess that it sits into.
All in all I like the truck, but the seats in my GMC were more comfortable (and they came with a memory position). I really like the exhaust cutouts in the rear bumper and the sound the Sport makes - almost like a Corsa Touring muffler set-up, but not as loud at wide open throttle.
I just wish that you had a total of 36 memory buttons for radio stations, not 12 for AM, 12 for FM, and 12 for Sirius. The 12 AM station presets are a waste, there have never been more than 5 AM stations in the last 20 years (at least in SoCal) that are worth listening to. All the others are either Spanish, Chinese, or religious. I'd like to use the unused AM buttons for Sirius.
The mileage is pretty good for a barely broken in motor - I'm getting 17 mpg (and I have a heavy foot), driving on the freeway and that included crawling for the last 20 miles on the way home. Not only do I get better mileage in this truck versus the GMC, I've got a smaller engine that puts out more power and torque - what a great combination!

First I wanted to say welcome to the family. You have made a solid choice.
It's not just Dodge that is using larger logos and putting them in more places. Have you seen how far the Ford logo sticks out on the new F150 tailgates? Ridiculous. Somehow the manufacturers got it in their heads that we wanted more and larger logos. It doesn't really bother me, but it's a trend amongst the big 3 right now.
Btw, my truck has memory seats. It's also tied to the remote (something I don't believe Chevy had on their trucks). So, it knows whether I unlocked the truck or my wife did and adjusts the seats, mirrors, radio station presets, and temperature settings based on what was saved for my memory preset. Maybe this was only an option on the bucket heated/cooled seats. I also have my truck configured to scoot the seat back 6" for easier exit and then to scoot it forward 6" when i stick the key in. It also turns the mirrors down when I put the truck in reverse.

If you get the Laramie you get the memory goodies. I would have done the Laramie if you could do the body colored bumpers. Since I'm the one who drive the truck the most it no big deal, but when my wife drives it and changes the seat settings, it would be nice to push a button and go back to my seat settings.
(And by the way, my GMC had the memory dealio with the keyfob that would memorize the seat settings, radio stations, and HVAC settings by which keyfob was being used.)
