Default 2006 SLT Quad vs 2009 SLT Quad

Okay I have a mint 2006 SLT Quad 4x4 Hemi with the 20s only 25k miles, I looked at the 2009 version of the same truck. I liked it but I am wondering whether or not it is worth my truck and another 14K or so?

If you like your 2006 and with only 25K on it, why would you want to purchase another vehicle that will only depreciate? The only reason I purchased a 2009 Ram was someone hit me head on and totaled by 2006 Tacoma. Despite the auto industry needing for us to buy, I would look at other higher priorities to purchase.

I think the '09 is leaps and bounds above the '06. You should drive it and see for yourself if it's worth it. Then again I have VADD (Vehicle Attention Deficit Disorder) and I've bought a new car every year for the last 5 years or so....

I will tell you right now that the 09 QC is 2 inches shorter in the rear area of the cab than the 3rd gen. It is also taller and harder to get into without bars. The 2 inches is in the front fenders and front doors. The 09 QC will feel smaller in the rear seat. If you rarely have passengers, it is no biggie.

Yeah... if you're going to buy a new Ram you really should just get a Crew. There is a lot more room. I don't even need the room really - I rarely have backseat passengers - mostly hauling boxes of stuff around in the back, but Dodge is banking on people trading in to want to step up to more space with the Crew and most of the trucks on the lots are Crews - I couldn't find what I wanted in a Quad cab anywhere.

Also, the Crew will have a better resale value in 3 - 5 years. Dodge has been making Quads for 10 years. Crews are new and there will be less to choose from and some people really need the extra space (those with kids, etc.).

TY for the responses. I did test drive the 09 my opinions are the interior is much better layed out and more comfortable. Power rise the truck did seem to be a bit stronger than my 06 but I really expected more for a 50+hp and 40+lbs of torque increase. I would have liked to have hooked my boat to it and see if it was improved in towing especially at lower rpms. Appearance wise I think the 09 is sharp I like the front end. All in all I just did not see enough improvements to spend that kind of cash to replace a like new vehicle with a new vehicle.
