I just traded my 2002 Ram 1500 with a 4.7 for an 2009 SLT with a hemi. All is now right since my truck now has more power than the wife's car (a Magnum).

I'm hoping this gets better mileage and treats me a little better than the 2002.

Congrats. I have to say the 2009 is far better than the 1996 Ram I owned. So enjoy.

Welcome Tuonorider!! Here's to ya enjoying your new ride for many years to come.

I bought my 2009 Quad SLT Hemi Feb 16th. Really love that truck. My first Dodge. Got a great buy list for $35,000 bought it for $23,000 and 48 months not interest financing. Gotta luv it. Added Luverne S/S 6 1/2" running boards, OEM mud flaps, OEM chrome bug guard and OEM chrome body side molding(same as the Laramie uses). Just one more thing to go....BAK FlIP G2 cover.

I also had a 2002 QC with the 4.7. I get about 1-1.5 better mileage and combo city/highway with my 09 Hemi CC. The 09 really beats the 4.7 on the highway, but if you have a heavy foot in the city, the Hemi really will drink some gas especially with higher gearing like the 3.21.

I try not to drive with a really heavy foot unless I want to have a little fun. I was getting 11-12 with 02 QC. I'm hoping for 14-15 with the 2009.

I wouldn't think that the 3.21's would do that much worse than the 3.55's or 3.92's. Mine has 3.55's and 20's.

mine has the 3.55's with the 20", and i'm getting about 14.5mpg, but that can only get better the more it gets broke in and i add the tonneau, intake, exhaust and programmer. have fun with it, that's the most important thing.

Congrats on the new truck! I think you'll be just as happy as we all are with our new trucks. This is IMHO by far the best truck Dodge has ever made.

You'll definitely get 14-15 mpg. Right now I'm over 16 mpg, but I'm going real light on the gas. A couple weeks ago I averaged 21 mpg (highway) on a 350 mile trip home from northern Michigan. The first 50 or so miles were in 4wd.

Thanks. I'll be very happy if I can average 14-15 for my daily driving.
