Should Things be Rusted?
The truck was up on the lift today to get the resonators removed and I noticed that a few parts looked rusted already. I snapped a pic:

Is this normal?

I did want to ask how it sounds taking the resonators off. How much and should it be done?
That rust may have been there from sitting for so long waiting for you to find her, LOL. I dont think it is something to worry about but I would still take it in and have the dealership paint it.

Normal for Chrysler.
I replaced the muffler under mine and noticed rust all over.
I looked under my other car, a 2004 GTO made by Holden Corp in Australia.
The GTO has 4 places that have mild rust on them. Tie rod ends and a part of the 1/2 shafts in the rear....thats it.
This brand new 640 mile Dodge Ram 1500 has rust all under it.
Sorry quality.
I had to sand and touch up paint the inner body to exterior body seam all around it.
Tired of going to the dealership....GTO nearly the same black....had that touch up paint.
I expect some, but on those parts that are abviosly going to get wet a galvanized or painted part would have been nice. Undercoating like better auto companies apply as part of the build.
The seam rust, no excuse.

Well, unless it's clearly broke, I don't think the dealership is going to want to fix it.
With the resonators removed it sounds a little louder. Definitely not as loud as the magnaflow was on my '07, but you can notice a difference. To have both cut out and replaced with stainless steel pipe was $65.

past the mason dixon line they have road salt and constant moisture, down here we have constant humidity everything rusts on any vehicle but an undercoating helps thats why mine is clean underneath. if you get one properly installed theyll blast the rust and spray over it you wont get anymore and I live near the coast, soif it works for me itll work for you.

Considering where you live, that is very normal. I have seen brand new vehicles come off of the trailer at a dealership with some rust on the exhaust, frame, or behind the rotors like what you have.
I would be a little concerned if you lived in an extremely dry place like Arizona or some place like that. That was probably a result from the very first time you drove in the rain...
