Default Will your new 09 1500 Crew Cab fit in the garage?

I really did not plan on parking it in the garage but when I measured it just to see the truck is about 2" to long. I have a standard size two car garage for a Texas home in the 1900 sgft range but the truck is just to damn long..lol.... For this reason I don't want to program my home link just in case someone was to break into it while the family was at work I don't want to give them free access to the house. I do have two Chinese Shar Pei's that are very protective but even with access to the garage they would have access to all my toy's. I gues I will just carry the garage opener to and from the truck when I come and go. On a side note does anyone know if these trucks have any kind of factory entry alarm or is it just to prevent the truck from being stolen?

Mine will not fit. My wife's Pacifica barely fits.

Default Armed = Home Link no workie

I wouldn't worry about it. If you have your factory alarm armed, the Home Link does not work. Once you un-arm, it works. I was concerned also, but read about it in the manual and tried it myself.

I'm in Texas also and my truck would just barely fit in the garage. (less than 6" clearance) But its too tight for my liking so unfortunately, I'm unprotected from TX hail.

I only have about 1' clearance for my Crew Cab in my garage. It is by no means a big garage, just your typical sized garage. I checked the measurement of the truck before I bought it as I was worried about it not fitting.

With the sentry key as a theft deterrent feature, you don't have to worry about your truck being stolen unless it's put on a flatbed or they somehow get your key.

Well I guess I did not get the factory alarm because I just tested the homelink and it worked even thought I hit the lock button on the remote. Thats sad that I bought a $38,000 dollar truck and it did not come with the actory alarm. I have the SLT with center shifter and Lone Star package.

Garage size has been my biggest concern with this truck. I knew my Z71 ext. cab wouldn't fit because of length, but I wasn't hesitant to try because of width or height. This Ram, I want to drop plumb bobs from the mirrors and measure shadows, etc... Maybe I will just try slowly after this weekend's hail. Standard Texas garage, but with two single doors, by the way.

The truck fits in the garage, but only if I take the hitch off and basically pull all the way up, not allowing any room to pass from the other side. For that reason I just park on the street. My wife's H3 fits fine at least.

My truck has the alarm and the homelink does not work when armed.

Right now it just barely fits... I only pull it in right now when there is a potential hail storm. The wife has to guide me in and let me know when to stop (about 1 inch from the shelving we have on the back wall). When I'm 1 inch from the shelving, it leaves 1 inch of clearance to the garage door when closed. I plan to move the shelving so I'll have an extra 2 feet, but that will be a big project... One of these weekends coming up.

Did you arm the truck while sitting in it, open the door so the alarm/horn goes off and then try the home link?

Or did you just arm it and then press the home link button?

The alarm may have to be triggered to disable the homelink?

I hit the lock button on the remote with the window down and unlocked the truck and opened the door and nothing happened. I can not believe this would not be a standard option on a $38,000 truck? I even checked the sticker and did not see anything about alarm, go figure. I guess I will need to make a trip to Car Toys to have a damn alarm installed also!
