Default Invision DVD headrests

Well I have been going back and forth on what type of monitor/DVD system I wanted to put in the truck for the kids. I settled on a system off ebay for 350.00 shipped that looked nice but after living with it for a few days the low quality was begining to show, fuzzy picture loose head rests. I am sending it back. I originally wanted an Invision headrest system but they were too expensive. My friend has the invision set up in his Tahoe and he paid 1500!!! Plus that was a deal!!! Then I can across this on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/INVIS...d=p3911.c0.m14

Nice Invision system for Dodge. It didn't list our year so I sent an email to find out more info. This Dodge dealer use to run a pro shop but when the economy turned they shut it down. They still have inventory and the ability to get product from Invision. I submitted a best offer of 600.00 and they accepted!! I had a long conversation with Al, the guy who runs the ebay sales. He assured me they will match and fit prefect. All I needed to do was email my VIN. I should have them in 5 days. He just did a set for a Tundra owner thet I got to see on the Tundra form and they look great. If anyone is looking for a nice set of matching headrest DVD'S check these guys out. He did say he is running low on product. I will update everyone with pics once I get them.

Looks like a good buy. Keep us updated once you get them. I'll be getting some headrest similar to these once the funds allow. I'm getting tired of seeing Disney movies playing on the RER.

I have those (with the 2 seperate DVD players instead of one shared one) in my wifes car and they are pretty good. We have had a few little issues with them, but overall we like them. I would make sure you are getting the correct ones for the 09 since they are different and I find it hard to beleive they could sub out the 09 versions for the same money (but I hope I am wrong!)

Here is what I gathered from talking to Al and Invision. The dealer can buy into the program at different levels. The more they buy up front (stock) the lower the cost. The DVD units themselves can be purchased and inserted into the headrests by Invision or the dealer. This particular dealer was selling alot of these units. I confirmed Invision has 09 Ram headrests. So it sounds like he is ordering the headrests and installing the DVD units. This was how he was able to do a Tundra truck which I got to see pics of and it looked good. Al told me he only had 2 more sets and he was sold out at the low price points. I deal in retail and know once we commit to stock a product it is damn near imposible to return it and thats why he was stuck with these units. They made the commitment since they were selling lots of them then the economy took a crap. I will know soon enough if they are the real deal. I will post pics once I get them.

The units we got were preinstalled, so I am not sure about how they come. Let us know how you like them and if they have not fixed the hook up directions you may have a playback issue when you first install them, but there's nothing wrong. Just call Richard there (I think that was his name) and they will easily tell you about it. I assume they have corrected the instructions by now and it might have only applied to the unit with 2 DVD players anyway.

Default My Gig

IF you have the mygig stereo it has built in dvd to it. You would just have to run the wiring from the stereo to the rear.

The Invisions don't work that way. They have either a single (top loading slot behind one screen that feeds both headrests (and you have to run cables down and connect them in a junction box you usually mount under the seat) or 2 seperate DVD players that are able to watch 2 different programs, or one drive (either one) can be the source for both headrests. The one problem with the Invisions is that the only Aux inputs are mounted below the screen, so if you did want to slave it off the front DVD, or if you added the sat. TV like we did on my truck, you would have to just have a cable hanging out of one screen that was plugged into it and only that screen can watch that aux input. Not very nice to look at, but only a problem if you wanted to add it. That's why my truck has the sat TV and my wife's SUV (which is equipped with the Invisions) does not. Again, it's not a problem as long as you do not intend to add a Sat TV, game system, etc.

Well I got the headrests today!!! It took me about an hour to put them in. The kit is complete with heavy duty cables, control box, 2 remotes and headphones, special fish wire, assorted wire ties and double sided tape. I didn't need anything else to complete the install.

The color match is dead on. Fit and finish are top notch! Picture quality is excellent! I am very happy with them and for 600.00 it was a steal. I will post pics tomorrow.
