Default Tire Questions.....New Nitto Trail Grappler MT

I am looking to put some new tires on my 09 Sport. I have the RoughCountry Leveling kit, and I want to put a 35x12.50 tire on my factory 20 inch wheels.

Has anyone tried the new Nitto Trail Grappler MT's or seen them in person? They are supposedly a lot quieter and road worthier than the Mud Grapplers and should hold up better with highway miles. They still look pretty aggresive though.

Also will I be able to fit this size tire using my stock 20's without any rubbing? Will I need any spacers?

You will rub, so yes you will need about 1/2 inch spacers front and rear

Thanks!!!

I have always heard that spacers aren't good. Too much stress on wheel bearings.

What if I ran a 275 65R20 which equates to 34.5 inches in diameter and 11 inches wide.

If I ran this size tire would I need spacers?

Toyo Open Country MT's have this size tire.

i'm wanting to do the same thing. the leveling kit and 35's. i am thinking instead of going with 35X12.50R20 on stock rims that i will go with 285X65R20.. (35X11.22R20).... keep the hight but cutting just over an inch in width might stop it from rubbing.. plent of tires come in this size... anyone else have this setup that can give feedback would be great.

325X65R20 is larger than a 35" tire.. its 36.63" tall and 12.80" wide which is 2 inches taller than the 285X65 (34.59X11.22).. that's a pretty big tire for just the leveling kit. where is it rubbing at?

yeah you will only rub at full turn. and if you look you are also rubbing in the back on that plastic. but any rubbing at all is bad

A little rub at full turn is no big deal. And those are some pretty good looking tires.

rubbing at full turn is probably not that big of a deal. don't think i turn that sharp very often anyway. is it the height that makes it rub or the width? I want to make sure that when i go off roading that i will have little to no rubbing. like when i'm bouncing around and the tires are not at full turn. that's when i would be worried about tearing something up
