Default Highway driving question

Hey all, I was one of those complaining of the wheel shake, the dealer told me i had a bad rim and moved it to the back till a new on comes in, the problem with the shimmy is 90% better, but it seems like there is still too much vibration in the wheel at 70 mph and up. Can anyone tell me if this is normal, or should it be smooth with no shaking? I have an 09 quad cab 4x4 with 20's.

Could it be related to the bad rim in the rear causing a vibration throught the truck?

if you have a full size spare, those donuts are rated at what 45 mph....go for 80 mph, I dont even think those things are balanced, mine looks like a garden tractor tire, no weights anywhere

Won't your question be answered when the new rim comes in?

don't take the dealers info as a fix, if it still isn't up to your standards, check your states info on the lemon law. if the vehicle is taken in for the same issue without fix for # (depending on state) it will be considered a lemon = new truck

If you've got wheel shake then you will have to live with it unless you get a different truck. I have never heard of a definite fix for it yet.

The last time I took mine in the dealer said that 20s couldn't be balanced right. I just don't have the time or patience to go back and fuss anymore withem. My truck has too many miles to be lemoned.

Where's the shake now that they've moved the "bad" wheel to the rear? It should have moved from the steering wheel to the seat. It will continue to have it until the wheel is replaced. It's not normal unless you've got an out of balance wheel, tire issue, or bad wheel. We know which you have.
