Default New Wheels Installed

Some members had asked to see the new wheels I selected once they were mounted. It has rained nearly every day since I had them installed! I finally got some pics although the truck was still wet from last night's showers...

i saw those on ebay and wondered what they looked like on the truck... they look really sharp.. im thinking of getting rid of the 24s and going back down to 20s..these wheels are bad *** and i think ima do it thanks to how cool they look on your truck

your truck is lowered too right?

i thought blacking out some of the rim would go along with your theme..(since you blacked out other things)... but i think it looks great just the way it is..

Hey Doc,

My truck is a 4x4 so it is lowered with the Ground Force 2/3 kit. It is probably not quite as low as yours.

I have the BFG G-force T/A KDW tires in 285/55R20 which are 32.3" tall so they are about 3/4" shorter than stock. They ride fantastic with awesome traction and wet performance. They are very expensive! Truth told, I would not buy them again due to the look when mounted and it is specific to this size. For some reason, with the 55 series they rolled the sidewall into the tread a bit much for my taste creating a slight ballooning of the sidewall, see pic below. A friend has the same tire in a 265/50 series and it looks much better! His actual tread width is wider than mine! I prefer a more vertical sidewall but that can make the ride a bit harsh. I'm getting used to the look now. It sort of reminds me of a NASCAR tire.

The reason I still have 20's is twofold. First, I have these expensive tires with some miles on them so I can't sell them for anything close to what they are worth. And secondly, I looked for a long time to find any wheel I liked as well as the stockers. The one I found is only available in a 20 so it was a winner....for now.

If I stay with 20's, my next tire will be either the Falken Ziex S/TZ04 305/50R20 or the General Grabber UHP in the same size. These are 32" tires which actually help my truck since I have the .355 gear.

If I did it all over from scratch I would hunt intil I found a 22x9.5 or 22x10 wheel I liked and get the same Falken or General tire in 305/45R22 which is 32.8" tall. That will have to wait since I have too much invested in the ones I have.

I assume they are clads?

Better than the stockers, would be easier to clean!

Not clads. These are one piece forged alloy, machined and polished. That's why I got them...didn't want clads.
