Gas cap, or at least that's what everyone came up with last time it was posted (might have been the other forum). I'm not sure how it senses that the cap is loose/missing. I haven't seen any switches that would turn it on. Perhaps it's a pressure reading from the tank.

mmm... I sill stop by the dealer if I cant get an answer on here.. thanks

I am at 1/2 a tank, so I did not recently get gas. It was a few days ago and ran the truck with no probs...

Gas cap is tight.. I think there is a pressure sensor on all later models now... but that used to trip the MIL. Maybe sep light now for the gas cap..

if it is so... then my cap must be bad... nice!

Bad cap or a bad sensor. Not that either would cost you anything, but dropping vehicles off at the dealership is always a pain.

You could also reset everything by disconnecting the Neg battery cable for a bit. Perhaps that would cause the computer to recheck everything.

I had the exact same one come up about 6 months ago and couldnt figure out what it was. It turned out to be the gas cap light indicating the gas cap was loose. It seemed it took a while to clear after tightening up the cap. Somebody mentioned it was in the manual somewhere but damned if I could ever find it.

it is NOT in the manual any where.. there is something about a GASCAP message and to hit the odometer reset button to fix it but nothing about that light..

Dodge must have had an update...

LOL

Gas cap? Well that's good - looks to me like a warning that it is about to throw a piston out of the block

Gotta love it! There's a warning light on, but no messages to tell you what the warning light means.

Must be value engineering (removal of certain items to keep costs within budget).
