Default HVAC auto defrost with remote start

The fan and heat used to come on full, but now the temp has dropped down to -10 *C at night and in the mornings when I remote start the truck the fan does not come on? Really sucks when its still frozen solid after running for 10-15 minutes. Any ideas?

Cabin heat will always take a back seat to engine warm up. I'd imagine the fan is programmed to not come on till the engine coolant temp reaches a certain point.

After several minutes, does the fan come on full? Mine comes on full the second it is started by remote. Heat when it is cold, AC when it is hot. I don't know if that is controlled by the cabin sensor or the OAT sensor. If there is an engine coolant sensor that plays a role here, I have not seen it. Check it after several minutes or park inside and see if that changes it. My bet is that it won't. Does your fan motor speed change with manual or auto settings like it is supposed to?

I have the same problem. It's like it gets stuck in retard mode (no offense) and can't decide that's it's not 72 degrees F. Whenever I turn the key the A/C comes on and defrost on the mirrors. I have to manually turn them off. A few times I've had to switch off AUTO in the summer because I had the thermostat as low as it could go and the A/C wasn't cold but the button was pushed and I was dying. It had to be 80 degrees in the cabin. Maybe it's a computer upgrade or maybe it's a sensor but it makes me mad.

when i use my command start it reads the outside temp and acts accordingly. if it is -20 out it turns on the heated seat, heated steering wheel, the heat set to HI and the fan set to HI. when it is +20 out the a/c is on and blowing on HI, and the cooled seats come on. (the seats only heat/cool on the drivers side)

Is this a menu setting in the EVIC? I have never had anything come on, unless I leave it on when I shut the truck off. Or does it automatically shut off when you unlock the doors?

Figured it out, it doesn't seem to come on with the vent selector on windshield defrost only... For whatever reason. Turned it to windshield/feet and it's on full blast now.

nope, when remote started it turns on full blast, once you put the key in the fan turns down and delay comes up. Worked perfect again this morning, truck was a frozen block and it thawed within 10 minutes. Ill try starting it after work with the selector switch on window only again and see what happens.

that is interesting. I always leave my settings to Auto for both the fan and the direction setting.
