Default iPod cable with REN

I bought an iPod cable # 82212000 for use with my REN equipped with the uconnect . I tried hooking it up this weekend but it did not work. I hooked the cable directly to the radio. There was no instructions for the installation. Should the cable go into the uconnect module and where is the module located in the dash?

The cable hooks up to the mopar version of IPOD if your uconnect was installed at the dealer you need a different and infact it would have came with it.That cable you have is the correct one for a Mopar Uconnect setup. If your microphone is in the mirror then I would suspect you need the short little one foot cable

if you have an REN it connects to the uconnect module which is on the passenger side. Remove the lower glove box, look up and to the right. With the REN you may need to replace the uconnect module with a different part number, I couldn't get mine to work and they wouldn't replace it under warranty.

the part numbers you need for it to work are:
05064449AG - module
82212000 - cable

I have a different part number module and wasn't going to fork out over 300 for a new one

Yep, it blows. I reluctantly bought the cable from the dealer in hopes that it might work, and hopes were refunded the full amount from the dealer when it didn't. I really wish I had this feature. I hate the way the factory HDD menu system works. And playlist are ridiculous, unless I've completely misunderstood something, which is possible.

There is a nother possibility is your ipod newer version because if you have a new ipod its ony 5V older ones were 12. There are two different cables or you can get an adapter.

I tried 3 different part number cables from mopar, two where long and plugged right into the module. The third was short and designed for the RER which plugs into the head unit. Long story short the dealership has no clue.

I found a thread where someone had success replacing the u connect module with the part number I posted above, when i brought this to the attention of the dealership they wouldn't order the part unless i paid for it.

And now you see the 10's have a different setup all together.. There is a jack factory installed in the upper glove box, and none of this is compatible with the 09's
