Default leveling kit and stock 20"

I was thinking about getting leveling kit and maybe down the road larger tires. my question is from what I see most leveling kits are good up to 33" tires but from what I can tell the stock 275/60-20 are already 33" does this mean a leveling kit gains me nothing except a new level profile?

A lot of guy's on here are running 35's on there leveling kit. I have the Mopar leveling kit and I am running 34's and could have easily put 35's on it.

The one thing you have to be careful of I found out from one tire shop, is that with the stock 20's you cannot go much wider than the stock tires. Feel behind your front tires and you will see what I am talking about. I am looking at getting that kit and going with 285/65R20's. They are 11.5 wide and fit. If you want to go wider, I suppose you could install an offset.

Yeah,
I believe 285 is as wide as you can go. I went with the 275's for that purpose. BFG's have the tendency to be a little wider and I did not want to risk it on the 285's so I went with the 275's. I have absolutley no issue's with rubbing.

Thanks for the info. I guess now my next question is which leveling kit to get? I have a 2010 4x2 crew cab.

I believe that your only option is the Daystar kit. http://daystarweb.com/productlisting...x=7&search.y=7

I might be wrong but I did run this exact kit on my 2wd 2009 Quad Cab that I had and it was easy to install. The suspension is completely different on your truck then it is on the 4wd. You have just a spring up front, just like the rear. On the 4wd drive we have Coilover's which is more complicated. All you have to do is get a spring compressor from autozone put it on, then lift up the truck and take out the spring. It was pretty much that easy. Took a lot longer on the first side then the second because I didn't know what I was doing. Anyway that spacer is easy to install. Took me about 5 hours and it was cheap to buy. I would recommend this kit to anyone with a 2wd. Also the spacer tuck's up in there so you can't even really see it. It would be hard to detect by the dealer unless they pulled the spring out. Plus you do not have the driveshafts up front so it isn't really connected to anything important. Good luck

I put the Top Gun Customz 2.5" level kit on the front and the spacer on the back. It really did give the truck a different stance. I also have people flash their lights at night cause I guess I'm shining a little high. I also put Nitto terra Grapplers 305/55/20 on all four corners. I still run the stock 20" Laramie wheels. They do rub the upper control arm too much for my taste, however I ordered a set of billet 1/4" spacers that I plan to install tonight to see if it gives me the clearance I need. I have tried in vain to post pics with no luck.

Good Luck!

Default Nope, you can run 305s on the BFG KOs without issues.

The tight spot is on the upper A arm against the inside of the tire(on 20" wheels) but there is clearance for these at stock height and leveled fwiw. No rubbing under any conditions so far.

Here's mine with KO 305/55/20 and Bilstein leveling struts on the 4th clip(2.1" lift)...

Hal,
It is nice to see a wider tire being put on the 20" rim it looks real nice on your truck. I did notice that your tires are essentially the same height as stock and about 2 inches wider. This may have something to do with the A-arm being hit I do not know. To me it seems like there have been people on here that when the go larger then 285's in a 35" tall tire they rub. I do not know because I have 275's and a 34" tire and went with this combo because of some of the issues I read about on this forum but anyway that is where I got my information from.

I think when anyone is looking to go to a different tire size the need to research Tire Size calculator's on line and figure out what works best for them for there situation. What might work on one truck moght not work on another truck because of the setup. Just my two cents.
