Default Headlight Problem

I was recently trying to install some HID headlights and, of course, I had problems. In the process I shorted a couple wires together and now one of my headlights won't work. I was hoping something just happened to the bulb so I switched it out and that wasn't the issue. I'm thinkin maybe the relay is jacked, but I can't figure out where the headlight relays are located. I looked in the fuse box under the hood, but I didn't see them. Anyone have any ideas? Any suggestions other than the relay being bad?? Any help would be appreciated.

check and see if you are getting voltage up to the ballasts or not that will eliminate or tell you weather it is something on the truck or with the HIDS that got blown

The HIDs are completely out of the system. I am using my stock headlights. I'll be sending those HIDs back. I'd suggest staying away from XenonHIDWorlds.com. I thought I'd save a few bucks and buy them on eBay. I guess now I know why they were so cheap.

As a rule of thumb, when doing any electrical work on your vehicle, (especially today's cars with complicated electrical systems), always disconnect the battery.

Yeah I know. I was trying to take a voltage reading though so I needed the battery connected. Just dumb luck I guess.

Well, come to find out, there is no headlight relay. I called the dealership and they said that it's all internal now. I was told I would probably have to buy a new TIPM, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. It'll probably cost me like $1500. I'd rather drive around with one headlight for the life of my vehicle than pay that much. I think what I'm gonna end up doing is taking it in to the dealership and see what they tell me. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll find a fix for free!

Dont forget if you have a REN radio to take the radio fuse out before you disconnect the battery.

I thought I would updae you guys with the situation here. I ended up taking it to the dealership and told them what was going on. They did some looking and said that it was the TIPM and they ended up replacing it for free under warranty. Obviously I didn't tell them I am the reason it wasn't working...haha! They ended up charging me $25 for a lightbulb though because they said it was burnt out and they needed to check to make sure it was working. I know that it wasn't burnt out though because I checked it before i dropped it off to see if that was the issue. Even if it was burnt out, they could have used the other bulb. Oh well, I guess we're even...lol
