Gunna need a little more info than that. Have you opened up the hood while it was making the noise and tried to isolate where it was coming from?

Let's think this trough. Turn engine off then noise begins
-can't be a belt, engine is not turning

Could it be that you used different weight oil and the lifters are making sounds? maybe the MDS system? probably not

My guess is that it is vacuum related and the noise is coming from under the dash and one of the vacuum controlled actuators (vent/AC) is either noisy or leaky as it returns to the detent position

Are you sure its outside because the radio has a little fan that runs for a bit after you shut down if you have the REN or RER

Ooh, good call. That noise bugged me until I figured out what it was.

Could it be a fan staying on under the hood? If it is hot enough I know the fan comes on on it's own if electric. I believe we have both? Now I have to look tomorrrow when I change my stupid reverse cmos from the front to a ccd the is not for reverse only, has a jumper on it for front use. I put the rear on tonight, wow night looks like day.
Sorry back to your sound, we have to figure out what stays on when you turn the key off, I know a lot of stuff clicks and moves and noises under the dash, just the truck shutting down I always figured, doesn't keep going. stops right away. I don't think it is a problem but if it is repeatable take it to the dealer.

sometimes the sound is immediate after i shut it off. the other day i parked it, opened the hood, than turned it off and nothing. waited 15 sec and shut the hood. right when i did that, the bastard sound starts, so i couldnt see where it came from. ill try this again today and get back to you. thanks man
