Dismal seat heaters
It finally got down in the 40's tonight so I figured I'd give the seat heaters a quick try on the way home from a dinner I was at. They are just sad. I had only jeans and a shirt on (no jacket) and after 15 minutes of driving with them on high I was only mildly warmed. And there are several cold spots on the seat and back that don't heat up at all. I'm used to seats where you get uncomfortably hot if it isn't below freezing outside and you're not wearing a jacket. This winter is gonna suck with these crappy heaters.
Anyone else have this issue and find a way to make things better? Can the dealer do anything? Is there an aftermarket part that can provide better heat output?

Check out all the lawsuits for people getting burned by heated seats, not just Chrysler, VW actually had a guys jacket catch fire, I read that on the net so I cannot verify it to be true but if you google it.
My seat heaters suck too. Welcome to owning a Mopar product.
There's a pretty wide variance between being marginally warm and catching clothes on fire. An adjusting **** or preset button would solve this problem.

That's correct! it's insane how hot the VW heated seats get. my wife drives a 2003 Jetta a few months after we got it the seat caught on fire.
Ain't ever seen heated seats in ANY vehicle work worth a flip or stay working very long. My ex had them in two of her Grand Cherokees and they quit working within 20k miles on both of them. The ones in my current '02 Overland were dead when I bought the thing in '06. My mom had a Caddy when I was in my twenties and they had HOT spots and spots with no heat at all and were so bad she finally stopped using them and bought a heated/message 12v pad for about $35 in JC Penney...
There was a guy in Oregon was suing http://www.nctimes.com/business/arti...fd96c2962.html read it for yerself, believe he had a Grand Cherokee. Google it is not just Dodge having problems just google heated seat malfunctions, fires, lawsuits....you shall see. Being paraplegic myself you have to be very aware but things happen, he would not even know the seats were on.
Got *** warmers in the 02 cummins. They are actually pretty damn hot if there on high and its cold out. 70k on truck and there still working good as new.
