Default Vibration in steering wheel and gas pedal

Have an 09 Ram 1500, hemi, 20' wheels, 33' Nitto terra grapplers, 2' leveling kit. Have never had problems with the tires or kit since they were put on about 7 months ago.
I now have a bad vibration in the steering wheel and gas pedal. Seems like it gets worse at about 35- 40 mph and sounds almost like something is pulsating. had tires rotated and balanced with no change. Took it to dealer and they said it is supposed to feel and sound like that since they are over sized tires yet I have never had this problem until just now. Took it to the truck shop where kit and tires were bought and they seem to think something is goin on in the rear, coils?

Any advice or input on what it could be? I am just not buyin that its the tires...

Welcome to the board and NO tire is supposed to bounce on the road and cause vibes through the truck. They are telling you that because they either cannot balance them right or because they do not have the equipment needed to balance big heave tires correctly.

Find a shop that can do a high speed or road force balance or do some searching for the beads they put in the tires to balance them.

When you did the level, did you do an alignment as well? If not, this could cause uneven wear in the tires which could lead to the issues you described.

How are the Tires wearing? Evenly?

This vibration is only felt when driving normally or is it also felt while braking?

Is it shifting okay? has your MPG decreased?

Jack the truck up and wiggle the tires up and down and left to right, see if anything is loose, but if it's not the tires, I'd go with Tranny or Brakes.

Tires are wearing evenly. I did have them aligned right after the kit and tires were put on. MPG has not changed and and the vibration continues until the truck is almost completely stopped. There is no play in the steering wheel and drives straight as can be.

does the vibration change in frequency when speeding up and slowing down? or does it stay the same?

He's dealing with an '09 here so I doubt an alignment is needed already.

There have been various times that my truck would vibrate/pulsate mainly at higher speeds 50+. It doesn't do it all the time, but only once in a while. If it's sporadic like mine, plan on it never going away. Mine did it with stock tires and still with the Coopers. it's only happened like 5 or 6 times in 9kmi but it's very noticeable when it is. I would say it's the TC, but it shakes my steering wheel.

I'll move your thread over to the 4th gen section fo you.

Not your kit. This is becoming a common complaint it seems. I thought it was my tires. The Goodyear Hp's on the truck were scalloping on the outside tread. Mine used to only do it at 40. So I put 50lbs of pressure in my tires and the vibration lessened. So I still think it is tire related. But after putting on new Michelins, it is still there. Something in the drive train? I guess when something breaks we will all know what it is.

But like said I changed tires and I still get it, just not as bad.

I had a little vibration from my gas pedal before I put the 35" tires on. But now its pretty bad. At 15-30 miles and hour I have a strange rotational noise that sounds like its pulsing as the tires go around and around and around, you get the idea. Then at highway speeds 60-70 i get some vibration and a slight hope out of the rear end.

I did get an alignment and that alleviated most of the steering vibration.

Truck goes in this morning to get the tires rebalanced.

Ill let you know.
