Default Took out all of my interior

I took my truck apart to install dynomat, amps, subwoofer, speakers and head unit etc. I got so busy with the installation that I forgot to take pictures of the dynomat etc. after I installed it, but you can use your imagination for that part.

I installed a pioneer 2 mega packs of Dynomat extreme, and 3 rolls of 1/2 inch dyno liner thruought the interior. Pioneer Avic z120bt, Infinity kappa 6x9s in front and back doors, Infinity kappa 3.5" in dash, Kicker Comp VX 12 subwoofer, Rockford fosgate power series amps 1000 watt amp sub & 600 watt amp for door speakers, Rockford fosgate 10 fared Capacitor, Used 0 guage wire for power and ground (big 3 upgrade) LED interior lighting.

I would like to know also!

I kept the factory MyGig and used a RF360. Well, when I say I, I mean the shop I had do it.

I had the doors and sub woofer area under the rear seats dynomated.

The only thing that vibrates in my truck is the overhead counsel! I need to have that removed and stick a couple of pieces of Dynomat on it.

Thumbs up Sound

It sounds, great. Before I had the Factory 10 speaker Alpine Upgrade REN radio.

If you are looking for an aftermarket Nav head unit, I highly recomend, the Pioneer Avic-Z120bt, I did lots of research, and my final choices were the pioneer and Alpine, but the alpine doesn't have nearly as good of a GUI, and has 6 million POI on the nav as apposed to 12 million with Alpine. now my volume at half way is louder crisper and cleaner than the factory system was turned up full.

I went with 6x9s in the front doors, I do not suggest doing this I had to do some cutting, and almost totally screwed up the operation of my drivers side window. Use 6.5" in the front doors. 6x9s fit fine in the rear doors, there is just not enough depth in the fron for a good pair of 6x9s

I replaced all the speakers except the 2 in the headliner, but I still may do that in the near future, Over all I think Infinity sounds real good, but there are some other good choices out there.

the 2 in the dash are now wired as my front left and right, and the 2 in the headliner are wired as my rear left and right, using the speaker wires on the new HU. I am not using the factory amp at all.

The door speakers are powered by my new amp. the pioneer Avic-Z120bt has plenty of RCA out puts for additional amps, ie. front, rear, and sub. It has 1 reverse cam input, 1 additional video input, and it can control additional moniters.

The video in motion hack is simple, just move 1 pin over on the connecter for the HU, and ground that wire along with the parking brake wire, and it worked perfect. There is an instruction video on Youtube that shows you exactly how to do it., It plays DVDs with great picture,(ounce I learned how to adjust the brightness and contrast)

I-pod control is great. It shows all album covers etc.. easy to control and search thru your music. Phone works good as well, If you have a smart phone and use pandora you can stream pandora and control with the HU via bluetooth.

there are lots of good sound adjustability on the Pioneer, sound stages, 7 band EQ, sunbwoofer control. It also has MSN direct capablility, but MSN direct is shutting down soon, but anyway. It is a terrific Head Unit. The 3d map on the Nav is great. it is very accurate. when going into a larger city the view will switch to show 3d buildings as well.

I am very happy with the change from my gig. The only thing I miss about the my gig is a hard drive, But even the my gig harddrive sucked the way it organizes the music, ie ounce you slect a genre you cannot go to seperate albums or artists within that genre, you have to either listen to all or select 1 song in that genre. the bottom Line, ,My Gig Sucks.

Thumbs up Subwoofer

I built my own sub enclosure using fiberglass. I took the factory subwoofer form under the rear passenger seat, and used it as a mold, for my new enclosure.

Basically I put it upside down in my garage flor and lined it with aluminum foil then rubbed car wax on the foil so the fiberglass would not stick, I the put a layer of fiber matt and resin. when it dried I used Mdf for the top and added more fiber glass around the whole thing to strengthen it up, after it was done I had it sprayed with Linex,.

Last, I layed a then piece of Carbon Fiber on top to make it look nice. I was able to squeeze a 12" sub in there.

Hey wow nice job. I also have the Kappas in the front doors. I used the spacer ring included with the speakers and bought longer mounting screws. I had only had a little cutting to do on the palstic support behind the speakers. It was relatively simple, and I'm sorry you had problems with your front doors. This is very similar to the set up that I'm working towards. So far I've only replaced the front door speakers and the left and right dash speakers with the infinitys. Did you replace the center speaker? Also did you dynamat the backside of the door panel or the interior face?
