Default First Ram ever!

Well im 24 years old, had 3 gmcs in my life time and my last was a 2008 and it will be my last gmc EVER. Super unhappy with the truck from the get go.....lousy performance, crappy plastic interior, tiny cab for a crew cab. My lease is up on the 6th of october and im cleared for financing and the dealer found me 3 trucks, one sold and im waiting on tomorrow to find out on the second if they will do a factory trade and i should be taking it home thursday. I looked at all the 1500s out there, the fords are damn expensive, so is the toyota and the nissan hasn't changed since 2004, so its basically a 7 year old truck. My gmc was a mid model and i drove a full load 6.2L and it did have nicer interior, way more power but it just felt like the same truck i had and was unhappy with. I drove back to dodge and there was a new white chev crew behind a new white ram sport in the same intersection and it sealed the deal....the gms may claim quality and gas mileage but they are no fun and have boring old looks, the NBS already have lost their flash in 3 years, they look to be the same era as the previous model ram. Drum brakes, leaf springs, and column shift are are inexcusable on a 50k new truck in my opinion and i have to pay $5000 more for a option to option gm to dodge with 18s over 20s for the chevy. So long story short im hopefully getting a 2010 crew, leather, sunroof, larger fuel tank, trailer brake, towing mirror, larger rear end, sport preferred packaged ram 1500. The only thing i dont like are the mirrors......the one that sold had the body color matched smaller mirrors but w/e im sure they will grow on me.

first mod is the stereo, i have 2 lo pro 12" subs for the rear, so i will probably sell the factory one. Im putting on the molded flaps, a drop in liner and a truxedo lo pro cover. I would go spray in but the carbides on the snowmobile destroy them.

Future mods........still on the fence, im swaying more towards a leveling lift kit and 33s over a 2/4 lowering being the winter conditions i drive in and thinking of painting the chrome wheel covers black. The salt we get here destroy chrome after market wheels.

Waiting for the pics, and you'll have to post the model of your stereo if you're looking at selling it. Should update your profile too, so we can see where you're from... Mentioning salt, and winter, I'm guessing somewhere in Canada, or northern states...

Saskatoon, SK. You ever heard good results about that corrosion resistant device that Canadian tire sells? puts a different polarity threw your frame, apparently works well but would like to know some real world results.

Apparenlty most of Ontario Highways put it on their plow trucks... But i haven't seen it up close... Couldnt tell ya much about it... I'd suggest just keeping it clean, and a good coat of wax before winter, on a nice day in the winter... A good clean truck that's maintained should keep the rust to a minimal...

yah its more of the frame and under carriage im worried about, my 08 has signs of surface rust on the frame already, i usually spray off, sand, and apply that rubberized rock guard to any showing frame in the spring. When i sold my 98 the frame looked brand new under coated.

PEEEEEEEEEEEEEERTY! Everytime i see Canadian sports, i cry a lil, because i want body matched bumpers n grille... (Someday) lol... Looks good though... Might just pay off to get the frame undercoated while it's new to protect from rust...

I take my vehicles to the drive thru car wash two or three times a winter to get the salt spray off. We get minimal snow here but they are spraying liquid de-ice on the roads every time it gets near freezing!!

Its undercoated and i got the rust module, and i wasnt going to get the module after googling about it but i talked to a engineer i work with and reviewed some documents about it and if it works how they say it will actually work.....if not meh whatever this wont be my last truck. I had a 1998 gmc that seen every potash mine in saskatchewan and the salty highways and it had no body rust just under carriage.
