Default Recall 2009 Ram Trucks

I just received a recall from Chrysler for my 2009 Ram. It states "we are recommending the following improvements be performed on some 2009 Ram trucks equipped with perforated leather trimmed seats."
The front and passenger seat cushion may tear during normal use.
Has anyone else received this?

Did you have a problem with your seats? My dealer said to bring it in and they will inspect it. If there is nothing wrong then they won't replace them. When I take it in I am going to try to get them to replace them anyway as there is obviously a problem with them tearing. And I thought with a recall they have to do the work. I may be wrong.

Default seat recall

i have a 2009 ram sport with vent. and heated seats, took it in today for other recall stuff and i got a service card in the mail for my seats also and they did not do anything with the seats, how do i know if this should have been done or did they avoid the problem. should i go back and get them to do it,or is there another option??

Don't say anything if you can't say it constructively.

The difference on the leather seats is if you have the stitching across the top of the seat or not. Can't remember which one gets the recall and which one doesn't. Check the seat thread for more info.

I got the recall, and checked with my service advisor.

My seats are in great shape after 23000 miles. I don't really want them changed, but am concerned that they may tear in the future.

I asked if there was a time constraint on the recall, and there is not. I specifically asked if I could have the seats changed in 5 years time when the truck has 70000 miles, and the answer was yes.

Job done. No action now, change seats when they are worn.

My 09 Ram is currently at the Dealership, and getting a few recalls worked, and a back-up camera installed.

I took mine in the other day for the recall and what they look for is if you have stitching on the front of your seats. If you do you get new covers. Mine didn't have the stitching on the front so mine didn't get replaced.
