Default Side Mirrors Conversion

Hey its been a year that i have my truck now.. I am loving it! i have the 2009 Ram 5.7 hemi SLT with a 3.92 gear ratio. At the begining it was a normal SLT (single out no light option). I have done some work on it: Single to dual exhaust conversion, including changing the rear bumper, i changed the front bumper too to get the factory look with fog lights (Still have to wire that), change the front grille to a Chrome honeycomb one. Did a Daystar lift/leveling 2.5". Now its the problem: I changed my side mirrors to get the one with the LED flasher in them. Lucky me i found a brand new pair near my town. Put some chrome mirror cover on it..looks very nice! The problem is i cannot make them work. I asked my dealership to starscan them and they answered me that they cannot program them.. is it true?
Thanks guys!

Hey Pedro! I Read this thread and it didn't help me out. There is no solution?

Default So far I think there is no solution

That thread seems to confirm that there is no solution - I don't know the final answer. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Try a private message to CCTexasboi and maybe the two of you can come up with something.

It seems to me that if the mirrors are either stock or aftermarket equivalents, there ought to be a way.

I had this done. My truck was supposed to have the same mirrors but did not show up with them. My dealership obtained a new set and had to call the factory engineering dept to figure out how to do this. Short answer was that the new mirrors had to be programmed and "registered" to the new truck. It took them a return phone call and an hour to actually do it. Hope this helps.

I'll have to see if they can figure this out at my dealership. Just swapped on a set of the 2010 2500/3500 flip up towing mirrors, and they have the turn and puddle lights.

So my 1500 has the leaky puddle light mirrors I want to swap to the 2500's flip up towing mirrors. Would I still need to have it scanned? Or would they swap right in.

Do your current mirrors have turn signals?

Yes I have the little LED and yellow turn signals in the bottom of the mirror.
You know that ones that are liquid filled. I assume, the water keeps the LEDs cooler thus providing more output....
