It looks like the lift broke. He is LUCKY he went to the other side.

Yes that lift has a name the man killer,(scissor lift) I used to have to put all of our Cadillacs on that thing, one day ,one fell through the front dropping it onto the floor, for no reason, it bent the frame up in the air, VERY DANGEROUS LIFT, my buddy still has a messed up back from a partial drop, it pushed down on his shoulders and crushed his spine, they only had a very small latch on the bottom holding that thing, and of course the NEVER failing hydraulics, that lift should NOT be used anymore.
