Just bought a 2011 Ram sport and I called the dealer to get a oem brake controller installed and they said there is a problem with installing one on a truck that did not originally come with one, so they are waiting for a fix. Anyone know what’s going on here? Or if there ant truth to this?

There are two plugs behind the console you HAVE to have for the factory controller to work, they are grey, if they arent there you can wire them as I believe one other person has, but good luck with that...

Basically if your truck has the plugs, and you have the controller, your stealership is blowing smoke HOWEVER you may need to have them flash the computer to add the option as Ive read before

 

Thanks for the reply. I called another dealer today and the guy said he had a pop up on his screen when he looked up the part, and it said there was a communication problem with the controller and they're waiting for a fix. What ever that means ... guess I'll have to wait
