Default 2010 RAM Badging

I am thinking about removing the Ram and Hemi Badging off the sides of my 2010 1500 truck. How is the best way to do this without damaging the paint finish? I think it would slot cleaner.

Yep, I used fishing line, 3m adhesive remover and a lot of thumb. The blisters healed after a week or so.

This is what I did...You decide. First I took some fishing line and removed the emblems, which left the soft black rubber outline of the letters. Under the foam is the glue part. I took an old, "marks-a-lot" pen with the 8 sided plastic cap. I then used one of the flat sides of the cap to scrape off the black rubber letters. Of course I left the cap on the pen that way I got more leverage. Now...The trick to this is to TAKE YOUR TIME and scrape only within the the foam. I'm sure if you go ***** nilly you would make a mess of the paint. But, I took my time and only used enough pressure to remove the black rubber. What saves you is that the adhesive under the letters is quite heavy and this prevents the plastic top from going on through to the paint. I followed another members hint and did it in the morning while it was still cool. I would say it took me about 15-20 minutes per side to remove the black rubber. After that is was pretty easy using the 3M adhesive remover to totally clean up the area. In the past I've also used Goo Gone and fingernail polish remover for the glue. Afterwards I washed the entire area very throughly with car wash soap and 3 coats of wax. You can't even tell there was ever anything there. I know some members will frown on this but, I took my time and didn't make a single scratch. And no blisters or sore fingernails.

I have an eraser wheel that works great for stuff like that you just put it on a drill, don't overheat one spot or burn thru the clear cuz you can but it work sweet.

I used a heat gun, and a plastic trim remover tool to pry them off. worked out well.. definately need the goof off and a lot of elbow grease to remove the extra adhesive off the paint.
