Default 3.55 vr 3.92 ratio

I'm ordering my new sport on Monday theres only 2 option I"m debating on 1 is leather, and the other is the gear ratio I'm thinking of going with the 3.92's is it much quicker of the line than the 3.55's?

I'd say that almost all of the owners with 3.92 gears report better performance & economy in addition to enhanced towing over the owners with other gears.

Did the same as you 5 months ago. Ordered the leather and at the last possible minute, the 3.92 axles.

Love 'em both!

Engine rpm's are pretty modest even with the 3.92's at 60mph.

Have both leather and 3.92 gears. Love it, definitely faster off the line.

No issues with the leather, except the cows that had to die for me to enjoy the luxury!

i have the 3.55 and cloth, when they pulled the truck around i though it had leather! the only part that is cloth on the sports is the middle of the seat and the middle lower back area, the rest is leather! the 3.55 i dont like with the new addition of 35's

17's = 3.55
20's get the 3.92

If you plan to lift and put bigger tires on it get the cheap gears as you should replace later.

CarGuy, are you thinking the Rev's would be too high with the 3.92 and 17" wheels? I'm in the middle of deciding which ratio to change to from my 3.21 and 17's.

Thanks

These trucks have what is in essence two overdrive gears. Even running 4.56 gears on mine I'm only taching about 2100 rpms at 70 mph. Go with the 3.92s...
