Default De-Badged, Re-Badged, Hitched, and Aux Lights

Removed the RAM and the HEMI 5.7 Liter badges, then added a lone HEMI badge a little higher up. Also, installed a Curt hitch and Optiplux aux backup lights. I will eventually connect them to a switch as well so I can turn them on at will. Right now, they only come on in reverse.

Those Aux lights are GORGEOUS! I would like to put those reverse white lights on my mine.

What are the part numbers? I take it that you hard wired it to your wiring harness behind the bumper?

Please let me know so I can buy these lights to do the same thing? I would only want mine on in reverse...

P.S, do they light up the area very well or SUPER well.

Thanks

They are Optilux 1000s - I bought them from a guy on Craigslist for $20 NIB.

And yes, they light up VERY well. I tapped into the reverse light (white/red) wire in the trailer harness. It is the center wire FYI.....very easy to do.

Here are a couple of nighttime pics.....they are projector lamps....check out the cutoff.....

I am not sure if this was answered in a post or not, but how do you remove the badges on the trucks? Does it leave any noticeable distinctions of it being taken off?

You use fishing line to get the badges off, then you have to remove the sticky backing crap. I used Goo-Gone and my fingers to rub it off but it's a pain in the butt.

You could use an eraser wheel and that is supposedly tons easier. But I don't have one! So now I do have a blister on each thumb because of the rubbing.

After I finished, I waxed over where the badges were to clean up any traces. You cannot tell it was there.

Sorry if I sound stupid BUT I can't even find these damn lights for sale by doing a Google search. let alone ebay or craigslist...

The name is "Optiplux 1000" correct?? All I'm coming up with is Dell Optiplex computers

Lil Jo, I just debadged my 09 yesterday, let me give you a tip. After using the fishing line, peel up a corner on the two sided tape, and pull down on it while pulling out (like the removable backing on those removable hooks our wives use). one side took me an hour, then after learning to pull down and out on the backing the other side took me 10 minutes. My badges where on the truck 2 years and there is no sign they where ever there. The cheapest most noticeable mod we can do to our trucks..just my .02

Very nice. I made a bracket for reverse lights and wired in a switch so I could turn them on/off from behind the truck. Makes for tying a knot/etc. at the tailgate easy when catfishin' from the bank at night.

I like how you don't lose the hitch with your'n though. I think I may have cut a piece of 2" OD square pipe and make another set that will slide over the hitch so's I can have both at the same time as well.

Good idea Hammer. Yep, I will add a switch in the cab to turn them on manually as well. They light the back end up so well. I live in the country, so it is damn dark!
These lights make backing up so easy. They are an awesome addition.

The lights are Hella Optilux 1000s.
